Dropshipping Calculator — FAQ

Everything you need to know about eBay fees, dropshipping profit, and how this calculator works.

Commercial sellers on eBay.de pay 6.5% to 14% final value fee (Verkaufsprovision) depending on the product category. This is charged on the total sale amount including shipping. Additionally, VAT-registered business sellers pay 19% MwSt on top of eBay's fee. There is no separate PayPal fee under eBay Managed Payments.
eBay UK charges business sellers 6.9% to 14.9% plus a £0.30 fixed transaction fee per order. There is a maximum fee cap of £250 per item sold. VAT-registered business sellers also pay 20% UK VAT on eBay's fees, which can be reclaimed if you are VAT registered. Private sellers pay 12.8% on amounts up to £5,000 and 3% above.
Your net profit is: Sale Price minus Item Cost minus Shipping Cost minus Other Costs minus eBay Final Value Fee minus Transaction Fee minus VAT on eBay Fee (if applicable) minus International Fee (if applicable) minus Promoted Listings Fee. Our calculator does all of this automatically with the exact tiered fee rates eBay uses — giving you the same results as the official eBay fee calculator.
Yes, eBay dropshipping is profitable in 2026 with the right approach. The key is sourcing from compliant wholesale suppliers (not retail arbitrage from Amazon), focusing on high-margin low-return categories like home and garden, tools, pet supplies, and automotive accessories, and operating a legally registered German business with proper VAT compliance. Margins of 20%–40% net are achievable in the German and UK markets.
Yes. eBay Germany charges 19% MwSt (VAT) on all final value fees for commercial sellers. This means if your FVF is €10, you actually pay €11.90 total in eBay fees. If you are VAT-registered, you can claim this back as Vorsteuer (input tax) in your Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung. Our calculator includes a toggle to add this VAT so you see the true cost.
The break-even price is the minimum sale price that covers all your costs — item cost, shipping costs, and all eBay fees — with zero profit remaining. Any sale above break-even generates profit. Our calculator shows your exact break-even price so you know the absolute minimum you can sell at without losing money.
Yes. If you sell commercially on eBay Germany — meaning regularly and with the intent of making profit — you must register a Gewerbe at your local Gewerbeamt. The registration costs €20–65 and is required before your first commercial sale. Since 2023, eBay also reports seller data to the German Finanzamt (DAC7) when you exceed 30 transactions or €2,000 in sales per year.
ScalewithFahad offers a done-for-you eBay account management service where Fahad's team handles product research, listing creation, order management, customer service, and account health — with no upfront fees. The fee is 50% of net profit after expenses. This means you only pay when you earn. The calculator shows a "ScalewithFahad fee" line in the What-If section so you can see your exact take-home after the service fee.
